Eric J. Weisbrod

Eric attended college at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude in 1994 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice Administration. He attended law school at the Dickinson School of Law, earning is Juris Doctor in 1997. While at Dickinson he was awarded membership in the Woolsack Honor Society by virtue of his academic achievement.

During law school Eric completed a year-long internship in the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting summary appeal cases, conducting preliminary hearings and writing appellate briefs. Upon graduating law school, Eric moved to Waynesboro and began practicing law with a local law firm, handling criminal, family and civil law matters. In 2000, Eric became an associate with another law firm, eventually obtaining an equitable interest in that practice. He continued to practice criminal defense, as well as civil and family law. In 2002, Eric opened his own law firm, becoming a sole practitioner and small business owner.

Since this time, Eric has continued to assist clients with a broad range of legal issues. Since 2005, Eric has served as special prosecutor for the Fulton County Domestic Relations Office, advising that office on legal matters relating to paternity establishment, child support establishment and enforcement of child support orders. He had previously provided the same counsel to the Franklin County Domestic Relations Office in 2004.

Eric is a member of the Franklin County Bar Association, and is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Eric is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

In a legal career spanning over 2 decades, Eric has obtained a great deal of courtroom experience. He has tried numerous civil and criminal cases to verdict before both judges and juries. His trial experience includes serious felonies such as homicide, attempted homicide, as well as all types of misdemeanors and summary cases. He has served as lead counsel in a death-penalty case as well. His practice has taken him to multiple counties throughout central Pennsylvania. He has argued cases in the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts, as well as the Board of Pardons. Eric has also appeared in the United States Federal Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Eric has provided volunteer legal advice on behalf of the Franklin County Legal Services, agreeing to represent qualifying clients in family law matters. He also performs pro bono services for Women In Need, providing legal assistance to abused individuals in Protection From Abuse cases. In addition, he has donated his services to the Waynesboro Area Youth Basketball Association, the Waynesboro Stallions Midget Football Association, Waynesboro Youth Soccer and Pen Mar Youth League.
